Compete with character

CYA AAU teams combine elite athletic development with academic responsibility. Athletes must maintain GPA standards, attend practices consistently, and represent the program with discipline and sportsmanship on and off the court.

Students are supported by experienced coaches who reinforce routines, push growth, and model the accountability they teach.

Training Structure

Practice rhythm

Every practice is built for intensity, skill development, and game-ready preparation.

Phase 1 · ~20 min

Check-In & Film Review

Athlete check-in, dynamic warm-up, and film review or scouting report.

Phase 2 · ~45–60 min

Skills Training

Position-specific drills, ball-handling, shooting form, and defensive fundamentals.

Phase 3 · ~30–45 min

Team Scrimmage

Full-court game simulation with real-time coaching adjustments and play execution.

Phase 4 · ~20 min

Conditioning & Cool-Down

Speed, agility, endurance work, stretching, and recovery.

When are tryouts?

Tryouts are typically held in late February or early March. Submit an interest form and we'll notify you of exact dates and locations.

What sports does CYA AAU offer?

Basketball is our primary AAU sport. Additional sports may be offered as the program grows. Contact us for the latest information.

How much does the AAU season cost?

Fees cover AAU registration, coaching, tournament entry, and training. Travel costs are shared among families. Scholarships may be available — contact us for details.

Is there a GPA requirement?

Yes. Athletes must maintain an academic standard to remain on the roster. GPA is tracked throughout the season, and support is provided if a student needs help.

How much travel is involved?

Teams compete in regional tournaments across the Southeast, with occasional national events. A tournament schedule is provided at the start of the season.
