Governance rooted in accountability
The CYA Board of Directors is responsible for setting organizational strategy, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and holding leadership accountable to our mission. Board members serve without compensation and bring diverse expertise in education, finance, community development, and youth services.
All board operations are guided by our comprehensive Board Governance Manual, which establishes clear policies for ethics, conflict of interest, financial oversight, and strategic planning.

Austen Bradfield
Board Chair
Leads the Board of Directors in setting strategic direction, facilitating governance decisions, and ensuring CYA fulfills its mission and fiduciary responsibilities. Presides over Board meetings, guides committee work, and serves as the primary liaison between the Board and Executive Director.

Vice Chair
Supports the Chair in all governance activities and assumes Board leadership in the Chair's absence. Represents CYA in community and organizational partnerships, and helps coordinate Board engagement across committees and strategic initiatives.
Jay Edmonson
Treasurer
Oversees CYA's financial stewardship, including budget review, expense monitoring, and financial reporting to the Board. Ensures that all funds — from grants and donations to program fees — are managed responsibly and transparently in alignment with the organization's mission.
Cedric Phillips
Secretary
Maintains official records of all Board meetings, resolutions, and organizational actions. Ensures accurate documentation of governance decisions and supports Board compliance with bylaws, reporting requirements, and nonprofit accountability standards.
