Program Overview

More than just afterschool care

CYA's Afterschool Enrichment Program gives elementary students a safe, familiar place to land when the school day ends. Our team blends academic support, enrichment activities, and healthy play so children are learning, moving, and growing — not just marking time.

Students are supported by caring adults who reinforce routines, encourage growth, and keep expectations clear. We partner with families to promote positive habits at home and at school.

What a typical day looks like

A structured routine that balances focus, movement, creativity, and connection — every single day.

Arrival & Check-In

Students arrive, check in with staff, store belongings, and join a brief welcome circle for transition time.

Snack & Reset

Healthy, nut-free snack, water break, and a short decompression period to prepare minds for academic focus.

Homework & Tutoring

Quiet working time with staff and volunteers available for homework help, reading intervention, and small-group tutoring.

Enrichment & Clubs

Rotating stations: STEM projects, art, music, literacy activities, or gardening clubs to foster curiosity and creativity.

Physical Activity & Play

Structured time for indoor or outdoor movement: cooperative games, sports fundamentals, and skill-building drills.

~ 6:00 PM

Closing Circle & Dismissal

Reflection, announcements, clean-up, and preparation for parent pickup or departure. Every day ends with intention.

What are the program hours?

The Afterschool Enrichment Program runs Monday through Thursday during the school year, from approximately 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Hours may vary slightly by campus.

What should students bring each day?

Students should bring homework materials and wear comfortable clothing suitable for physical activity. We provide all other supplies and a healthy snack.

How do you communicate with families?

Families receive updates through email, text, and app notifications. Once enrolled, you will have access to the Parent Portal for schedules, announcements, and attendance.

Is financial assistance available?

CYA works to keep programming accessible. We are a CAPS provider and offer scholarship options based on need. Contact us for details on current availability.

Transportation from partner schools may be available. Availability is confirmed during registration based on your school and campus location.
